Big data, oriented-organizational culture, and business performance: A socio-technical approach

This paper experimentally examines the impact of oriented-organizational culture that could support big data analytics (BDA) in higher education institutions (HEIs) Saudi Arabia. Specifically, this study analyzed effect (OC) on tasks (BDTs) toward improving decision-making (DM) and organization performance (OP). The hinged theory socio-technical systems to investigate BDA elements analysis was conducted using a quantitative survey research design where were collected from 270 IT staff working Arabian HEIs Qualtrics. PLS-SEM applied validate explore relationship between proposed hypotheses. findings show positively affected tasks, i.e., storing, analyzing, visualizing. Similarly, affects by top management universities. OC also influences Improving has positive enhancing overall university’s performance. However, visualizing, negatively affect HEIs. One limitations is small sample size; future studies should include private public universities alter expected outcomes. Additional technological elements, such as infrastructure at Arabia’s HEIs, are recommended be considered establish competence respective infrastructure.
